Ride Further Tour – Lohhof (DE)

It’s been a long time since the last Ride Further Tour stop, so when we had the idea of doing an event at the brand-new Lohhof skatepark, we thought about doing something special by going back to what we all enjoy: BMX in its variety of different riding styles!
Even with all the rain it was a fun and good weekend for BMX and at least nobody got sunburned! 😉
Thanks to everyone who came by, rode with a smile, we shared a Chiemseer with and made that weekend possible!

A complete new concrete and wooden setup in Lohhof (Munich), Indian summer and Oktoberfest – a very promising combination for an amazing BMX weekend in Germany!

Only that that indian summer never showed up and the weather changed all original plans of the Ride Further Tour …

Nonetheless international riders such as Alex Kennedy (UK), Tom Russell (UK), Sem Kok (NL), Ruben Rodriguez (ESP), Santiago Laverde (COL), Emma Silva (ARG), Christian Feltan (ARG) and Alessio Tonoli (CH) as well as Michael Meisel and Florian Uphoff and locals such as Philipp Staudigl and Fabian Bader made their way to the skatepark, enduring the rain and 14 degrees.

Due to only very short dry spells the format, which had originally been freestyle, had to be changed and the contest splitted into three disciplines for all PRO and AM riders together, to allow at least some practice and runs for all participants.

Luckily it dried up a bit on Saturday afternoon so bowl and park took place with cash & lots of stuff by ethika, tubolito, Shadow Riding Gear, Reell and Odyssey to be won for Best Line, Best Trick und Best Rider Overall.

Alessio Tonoli took home the win for Bowl Best Line & Overall and Best Trick went to Michael Meisel.

But those two certainly didn’t have enough after that and also secured two spots at park, together with Santiago Laverde.

The weather forecast for Sunday looked like there would be no more riding so everyone celebrated the winners until late at night with quite a few crates of Chiemseer beer and maybe a few (or more) Jägermeister shots!

And then Sunday came – with a forecast of 90% rain – but it stayed dry so it was possible to also do street and even a highest air session in the end!

Best Trick Street went to Fabian Bader, Best Line to Santiago Laverde and Best Overall Rider: Alex Kennedy.

In addition to that there was a special price for the “most street fried” rider which Emma Silva claimed for himself by exiting the skatepark with a truck from the container!

The Chiemseer Highest Air went to Tom Russel with 3,87m who battled it out with Alessio Tonoli!

Even though the weather wasn’t on our side and only the real tough ones made it to the skatepark it did turn out to be a great BMX weekend!

…followed by the one or other Mass at the Oktoberfest..
